How many of you actually ever act as a tourist in your hometown? Chances are almost every city in the world has at least some interesting facts, treasures and history associated with it. Wouldn’t it be great to learn all about it?
Even better – wouldn’t it be great to burn calories while adding to your mental encyclopedia?
A hot, new mode of exercise is taking “running tours” in various city locations. Of course, the more popular being places like Washington D.C. and New York, where there are obvious landmarks and special ‘must see’ venues. These places even have organized running tours led by an “expert” running tour guide.
But who’s to say that you can’t make your own running tour? Simply mark on the calendar the hotspots you want to check out on your tour and, well, run.
And, hey, these running tours can do more than just help you lose those last few pounds or give you some much needed culture. Perhaps you are yearning for that family time with your teens and spouse, but just can’t find the time between soccer games and music concerts… well, tada – a running tour can shave down that time necessary for a normal tour in half.
Your kids (and spouse) will love you for it. (And so will your heart.)
