“Special X Cereal Challenge” Diet – My Experience

The “Special X Cereal Challenge” asserts that you can lose up to 15 pounds in 2 weeks. Not kidding. As per instruction on the box, we are adviced to eat a bowl of Special X cereal for two meals of the day. Well, they have some more parameters like how you can have only two other snacks during the day, and that you need to have fruit and 2/3 cup of skim milk with your cereal or other Special X product (their website will have all the details: http://www.specialk.com/mealplan/notstarted). But the good thing is that you won’t have to face Jillian or anyone else like her. The only thing you have to face is your weight scale (and your conscience… how’s that for a guilt trip?)

Sounds too good to be true? That’s what a lot of people thought, and even many nutritionists argues that the Special X challenge is really just another take on simply lowering your calorie count. Debatable?

Still not convinced? You’re not alone. It has been said by dieticians that Special K products are highly processed. Cast your mind back the last time you had a bowl of cereals, and that hunger feeling that lingers on for a candy bar, cookies, or maybe even just real food. 🙂

  1. I agree with the dietitians. After my attempts at this diet I was mainly left with a sugar high and a longing for more fruits and greens 😉 Thanks for keeping an open mind about dieting and realizing its not just about eating less!
